William Espey is the head of the Creative Department at Chipotle and a very handsome, passionate and driven man. I recently interviewed William and I’ll be posting that on the blog soon. Denver University just hosted a TED conference and William gave a talk on how creative people change society by working at the very edge of what society accepts. I love the way he describes passion as “something that makes you forget who you are or who you think you are because it is greater than yourself.” But you should hear it in his words. He’s a great speaker and it’s just 6 minutes long. Video is here: TEDx at Denver University: William Espey

Thanks for sharing, I liked the video. I believe that the act of creating is essential for personal happiness. Not to get too religious, but just like how we inherit characteristics from our parents, as children of God we inherited his attributes too. Thats why I think we are happier when we are creating, because we got it from the great creator and when you don’t do what you were born to do you feel like crap.
I love that quote, “when you don’t do what you were born to do you feel like crap.” And I have been thinking a lot lately about the fact that the Universe is constantly creating, and I am a part of the Universe, so it only makes sense, right? So many people don’t consider themselves creative because they don’t draw, play music or write stories but there are infinite ways to create.
